I love the books by Raymond Feist and read almost all of them in my teens and twens! The PC game captures all the atmosphere of the books and was well done at that.
What I remember most vividly are the riddles you had to solve to open chests. 😃

And that was the real betrayal - Ultima Underworld! You had to enter twelve shards of a magic crystal, each containing its own world. I spent days solving them ....
.... and the last one was buggy and I couldn't enter it!! 🤬🤯

When I searched for Neal Hallford on Amazon I only saw that book at first, then followed the link to the author and only then found the game design book.
Obviously, he was on that train and wrote about it.
